STEM WORKS PROGRAM
Coding/Programming Language: C++ is often the language of choice for multi-device, multi-platform app development. It is a powerful, efficient and fast language with a wide range of applications such as 3D graphics for games to real-time mathematical simulations.
Description: Arduino is an open source platform that is not only a versatile robotics program but an educational introduction to electronics. At the end of the curriculum, student’s projects include building models to help in disaster preparedness which is inline with the current DepEd STEM strands.
Platform: Raspberry Pi
Coding/Programming Language: Python has many practical applications in the STEM field such as graphic design, web, business, games, and other Scientific and computational applications. Because of this, it is another widely used language of choice by tech-based enterprises.
Description: Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized computer that delivers all of the functionally of a typical desktop or laptop. It provides the ability to attached monitors, a keyboard and mouse, external storage and more which means, the applications you can build on this platform are virtually limitless. At the end of the Raspberry Pi program students will have developed skills that enable them to create a smart city and various handheld innovations. They will also be well prepared for local and national competitions that will further challenge them to apply what they have learned and to learn more. More importantly, students completing this program will have a distinct advantage when applying to colleges and universities. Our program is effectively and advanced science, electronics and engineering program that opens many avenues for advanced study at the college level.
